Another Discovery - Twisted Sketches!

When I got updated on my Kaya, Card Patterns, 52S52W, whatisyourfavething and SMI3 challenges, I searched the scrapbooking community for another challenge blog that I can join/work on. I found Twisted Sketches (forgot where, though). They are on their 7th sketch...here's my take:

TS#07 - Use Brads or Buttons
Title: Havin' Fun

I thoroughly enjoyed doing this LO that I also did one inspired by TS#06...

TS#06 - Use stamp
Title: me

I have selected the photos for LOs based on TS#01 to 05. I will share the layouts with you once they are done.

Stay scrappinpretty,

52 Sketches 52 Weeks - Sketch No. 30

Thanks to 52Sketches52Weeks, I was able to finish another LO (inspired by Sketch#30). Here it is...

I am very happy that I am, slowly but surely, filling up my albums and using up my scrapbooking materials (I had been just hoarding for ages...hehehe!).

Stay scrappinpretty,

Kris Swain of Card Patterns is celebrating the first anniversary of her blog through a sketch challenge (please visit her blog for the sketch and details).

Since I am a follower of Card Patterns, I decided to take on the challenge. Here's my take...

Thanks, Kris and Card Patterns, for the inspiration!

SMI3 - Week #4 - Let's Play

I was able to do a layout based on the SMI3 Week 4 Challenge after all! Here's my take...

Altered Items:

Main Photo - sanded edges to give it an aged look
Butterfly Embellies - hand-cut from patterned paper, inked edges and attached some bling
Tag - handmade; hand-cut from two patterned papers; inked edges; attached a journal block cut from cardstock (journaling, computer generated) on the flap; hand-cut a flap to hide small photo and handwrote journaling around the flap
Spiral Embellishment - hand-cut from a patterned paper; attached a bling
Frame - hand-cut from cardstock; embossed then crumpled; inked the edges; painted randomly with old paper crackle paint

Title: dance like nobody's watching
Journaling: some kinda PLAY going on here...the F _ _ _ PLAY! LOL!

No, no, no...STOP! No violent reactions, please! Hahahaha...

Challenge Blog

I came across this challenge blog, These Are a Few of my Favorite Things, while I was visiting Sarah's blog, Red Oak Lines. I was intrigued by the blog name and the first challenge, What is Your Favorite Color? Here's my take...

You might want to visit the site and take the challenge...

5S5W - Sketch 29

I love this sketch...was excited to do my LO but it took me a long time to choose the papers that will go with my photo. I went through my stock of patterned papers (mostly outdated but still pretty) and finally decided to use these Sandylion papers. Here's my LO...

This photo is one of my favorites. My youngest DS can be a real charmer if and when he wants to. Oh, but he can be real pest, too! LOL!

"Scrap Your Stress Away" - Studio Azul, Pinoyscrapbookers & Visual Creations

This event is so successful, you will not hear the end of it...at least not in the next six (6) months or until another event tops it (i doubt it, though)! Everyone had fun and went home all smiles! All the participants (including me) finished at least one or two LOs, cards, mini-albums. Here are the 3 LOs (12x12, ha?), a "purse card" and a mini-tag-album that I did (all smiles and very proud)...

Sketch Challenge (o, di ba? Lakas ng loob sumali sa challenge...hehehe!)

"Purse" Card (Front & Back) [Tutorial by Idol 1, Cabbie]

Mini-Tag-Album (Album, Front & Back) [Tutorial by SA Blue Lady, CV]

Up to now, I still can't believe that I finished all these! Lakas ng loob lang pala ang kailangan...LOL! Thank you, Studio Azul Ladies, PS Mods/members and Visual Creations for giving me the opportunity to scrap outside my comfort zone. More power and more events like this!

SMI3 - Week #3 - Space It Out! Celebrate the Everyday!

I almost gave up on this challenge...white space (?), minimum of 8 photos and a theme from "365 Days, 365 Ideas for Photos? This is quite a tall order for someone like me (a struggling scrapbooker). But, I can't just give up, can I? So, here it is...

For my theme, I chose "Your Most Prized Possessions" but I can't call my hubby and kids possessions so I wrote (with Uniball Signo White Pen) my title/journaling in "Tagalog", ("AKO at mga mahal ko sa buhay").I used 8 photos, some circles cut out of black & white patterned papers and white and red cs, black & white ribbon, a heart epoxy sticker, black cs for photo mat and white cs for the base (literal na white space...hehehe).

No one can accuse me now of "not even trying". I did my best.

Kaya 27 - "It's Got To be SomeTHING Mixed With aLpHaS!"

It was a toss-up between my cell phone and my rosary as the most important thing in my life at the moment. As you can see from my layout, my rosary won!

Kaya 27
Title: Pray the Rosary
Journaling:

"This rosary has been with me for sometime now. If I remember correctly, it was a gift from my mother.

I have always believed in the power of prayers. Through prayers, we form a loving, personal relationship with God. The rosary is one of the best and most efficacious prayers. It has been (for me) a source of strength, comfort and inspiration. It is a never-failing lifeline in my journey through life."

By the way, this layout is based on Sketch 5 of Pink Sketches.

Thanks for looking!
